Softer Seat is the modular seating element designed by BrogliatoTraverso for Plust Collection to bring the softness and inviting comfort of a truly upholstered sofa outdoors. Created for terraces, gardens, rooftops, poolside areas, hotels, resorts, beach clubs and contract spaces, it combines comfort, durability and compositional freedom in a contemporary outdoor design.
The outer surface is made of SoftElement, a special polyethylene compound developed through Plust Collection’s research and manufactured using rotational moulding. The shell flexes gently and in a controlled manner under the body’s weight, follows its movements and then returns to its original shape.
Inside, the seat is filled with expanded polyurethane foam, providing a soft and welcoming feel. The polyethylene and foam work together without adhesives, welding or chemical bonding, creating a seamless, continuous structure. An internal frame made of galvanised, powder-coated steel ensures stability and strength, even in outdoor environments subject to intensive use.
Softer Seat is resistant to impacts, UV rays, rain, salt air and frost, and requires no fabric cushions to be removed or protected in bad weather. It can be used on its own or connected to other modules in the collection using a linking element to create linear sofas, corner configurations and spacious lounge areas.
The seat is available in Pietra, Creta, Grain, Marea and Pineta, a selection of tactile finishes inspired by nature and the landscape. The galvanised, powder-coated steel frame comes in the Titanio finish, completing the design with a subtle, contemporary detail that blends effortlessly into contract, hospitality and residential settings.
BrogliatoTraverso
Both graduates from I.U.A.V. in Venice, after various experiences that took them from learning the art of Murano glass to working with traditional ceramics in Japan, in 2014 Alberto Brogliato and Federico Traverso founded the design studio BrogliatoTraverso. The evolution of their profession has increasingly made them eclectic, aware that the contemporary role of a designer can no longer be limited to dictating their own style. The studio’s method focuses on a depth of analysis and skills that allow them to interpret the essence of the brands they collaborate with, as detached from style concerns as they are committed to the meaning of each individual project.
This approach has enabled BrogliatoTraverso to work consistently with brands such as Magis, Cappellini / Haworth, Guzzini, and others. These collaborations have earned the studio numerous international awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, the German Design Award, the IF Design Award, the Interior Design Best of Year, the Good Design Award, and the ADI Design Index.
